Child Advocacy Centers:

Supporting Children in Crisis

Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) provide a child-friendly, safe space for children and families affected by abuse, neglect, and other traumatic experiences. At Silver Regional CAC, we are proud to support the mission of CACs in our community by offering comprehensive services to ensure that children and their families receive the care, support, and justice they deserve.

What is a Child Advocacy Center?

Child Advocacy Center is a dedicated, multidisciplinary facility where children who have experienced abuse or other crimes can receive a full range of services in one location. These services include forensic interviews, medical exams, mental health support, and coordination with law enforcement and child protective services. The goal of a CAC is to reduce the trauma children experience during the investigation and healing process, all while providing them with the resources they need to move forward.

What We Offer:

Forensic Interviews

Professionally trained interviewers use a child-centered approach to gather information in a way that is non-threatening and supports the child’s well-being. These interviews help investigators understand what happened and allow the child to share their experiences safely.

Counseling and Emotional Support

Children and their families receive emotional support throughout the process, with specialized counseling services aimed at helping children understand and process their trauma in a safe and supportive environment.

Coordination with Law Enforcement and Legal Support

Silver Regional CAC facilitates collaboration between law enforcement, child protective services, and legal professionals to ensure that children’s voices are heard and that cases are handled with the care and urgency they deserve.

Why Child Advocacy Centers Matter

For children who have experienced abuse or trauma, the investigation and recovery process can be overwhelming. CACs offer a sensitive, child-centered approach that minimizes the number of times a child must recount their experiences and helps them feel safe during every step of the process. By bringing together experts from various fields, CACs ensure that children receive the comprehensive care they need to heal, while also helping to bring justice for those who have harmed them.

Our Commitment to Children and Families

At Silver Regional CAC, we are dedicated to supporting and advocating for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Our partnership with Child Advocacy Centers allows us to provide a comprehensive network of care, ensuring that every child and family receives the specialized support they need. We are here to make sure that children and families receive the justice, healing, and resources necessary to overcome trauma and begin the journey of recovery.
